‘Freakin” artificial turf surface blamed for player injuries in Sunday’s NFL contest

Three players hurt in Seahawks-Chargers game

Demands to convert NFL fields to natural grass surfaces from artificial turf have been renewed following a series of recent injuries to players. Three players sustained injuries last Sunday in a game between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Chargers which Seahawks’ safety Ryan Neal blamed on “the freakin’ surface.”
